BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Congratulations to the Will Carleton Academy Cougars girls varsity basketball team on winning the 2nd Annual Lady Tigers Tournament at Battle Creek Academy by a score of 42-37 over the BCA Lady Tigers on Saturday night. The Marshall Academy Griffons won the third place game by a score of 28-27 over the West Michigan Lutheran Mustangs.

MVP: Following the conclusion of the Saturday night games the Lady Tigers Tournament most valuable player (MVP) trophy was awarded to Will Carleton Academy Junior, #12 Clemmie Gadwood. Each team’s coaching staff selected their top 5 players of the tournament based on tournament performance. Clemmie received the most votes and number of points (63) among all players in the tournament.
All Tournament Team:
1. (MVP) #12 Jr. Clemmie Gadwood (Will Carleton)
Gadwood scored a tournament record 33 points on Thursday night against Marshall Academy and led all scorers in the Championship victory over BCA on Saturday night with 30 points.
2. (2nd Best Player) #24 8th. Sofia Keller (Battle Creek)
S. Keller led the Lady Tigers in both tournament games scoring 23 points on Thursday night vs West Michigan Lutheran and 22 points to go along with 15 rebounds on Saturday night vs Will Carleton Academy. S. Keller, who is not yet in high school, surpassed the 500 varsity point mark for her career on Thursday night. Keller has now scored 530 points in her girls varsity basketball career.
3. (3rd Best Player) #23 So. Olivia Keller (Battle Creek)
O. Keller led all players in tournament rebounds with 15 on Thursday night vs West Michigan Lutheran and 20 on Saturday night vs Will Carleton Academy. O. Keller also had 10 points on Thursday night and 4 points on Saturday night.
4. (4th Best Player) #5 Fr. Katie Grentz (Battle Creek)
Grentz tied a girls varsity basketball program record for three point field goals made on Thursday shooting 4-10 against West Michigan Lutheran for 12 points to go along with 7 steals. Grentz also had 3 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in the Championship game on Saturday night.
5. (5th Best Player) #2 So. Karly Nill (Marshall Academy)
Nill led the Griffons to a third place game victory over the West Michigan Lutheran Mustangs on Saturday night with a game high 15 points. Nill also had 9 points against Will Carleton Academy in the first round game on Thursday.
