BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Congratulations to the Marshall Academy Griffons boys varsity basketball team on winning the 7th Annual Tigers Tournament at Battle Creek Academy by a score of 63-50 over the Kalamazoo Heritage Christian Academy Eagles on Saturday night. The Wyoming Godfrey-Lee Legends won the third place game by a score of 57-32 over the BCA Tigers.

MVP: Following the conclusion of the Saturday night games the Tigers Tournament most valuable player (MVP) trophy was awarded to Marshall Academy Senior, #10 Vockk Johnson. Each team’s coaching staff selected their top 5 players of the tournament based on tournament performance. Johnson received all of the first place votes and scored a combined 40 points in the two tournament games.
All Tournament Team:
1. (MVP) #10 Sr. Vockk Johnson (Marshall Academy)
Johnson scored a game high 27 points on Thursday night against Wyoming Godfrey-Lee in the first round game and scored 13 points in the championship game victory over Heritage Christian Academy on Saturday night.
2. (2nd Best Player) #14 Sr. Elijah Fenstermaker (Heritage Christian Academy)
Fenstermaker led the Eagles to the championship game with 27 points on 5 three point field goals against the BCA Tigers. Fenstermaker followed this performance up with 19 points on 4 three point field goals against Marshall Academy in the championship game. Fenstermaker led all scorers in the tournament with a total of 46 points.
3. (3rd Best Player) #15 Sr. Dylan Riddle (Marshall Academy)
Riddle scored 9 points in the first round game against Godfrey-Lee. Riddle came up big in the championship game scoring a game high 22 points against Heritage Christian.
4. (4th Best Player) #4 So. Reynaldo Christopher (Godfrey-Lee)
Christopher led the Lee Legends scoring 12 points in the first round game against the eventual tournament champions Marshall Academy. Christopher then scored 18 points on Saturday night against the BCA Tigers.
5. (5th Best Player) #21 Sr. Ashtin Fredrick (Marshall Academy)
Fredrick scored 10 points in the first round game and came up big with 17 points in the championship game on Saturday night.

I have Always loved playing in the BCA tournament! Thank you for hosting it all of these years! I have really enjoyed playing in it and will miss it next year as I head to play college ball.

Thanks for the tournament these past years. Glad to hear the anthem played at the games, not just played but SUNG! In these times I hope we all appreciate the freedoms that we are given.
I like the new seating arrangements. Safer for the players and a bit more relaxing not having to be so on guard for me and my family from flying balls and players. Aesthetically I’ve always thought your court has a nice visual appeal.
Only down I guess I could say is with my son getting the #2 maybe there could be certificates for the top five players, not just the MVP trophy for the #1. Being a bench player until his senior year I know he would have been grateful to have something to go with his memories.
Lastly I think it is always good to remember that the games, like everything else in life should be done to bring honor to God. Your school always reminds the players and fans of that point and I hope that continues well into the future.
