All-Tournament Team: Inaugural Lady Tigers Tournament

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Congratulations to the Battle Creek Lady Tigers (3-5) on winning the Inaugural girls varsity basketball Lady Tigers Tournament at Battle Creek Academy by a score of 40-32 over the Andrews Cardinals on Saturday night. The West Michigan Lutheran Mustangs (3-3) won the third place game by a score of 34-14 over the Pansophia Academy Pumas (0-4).

Inaugural Lady Tigers Tournament Champions – Battle Creek Lady Tigers

MVP: Following the conclusion of the Saturday night games the Lady Tigers Tournament most valuable player (MVP) trophy was awarded to Battle Creek Lady Tigers Freshman, #11 Eliza Lake. Each team’s coaching staff selected their top 5 players of the tournament based on tournament performance. Eliza received the most votes and number of points among all players in the tournament.

All Tournament Team:
1. (MVP) #11 Fr. Eliza Lake (Battle Creek)
Lake scored a program record and career high 23 points in the Lady Tigers first round win over Pansophia Academy on Thursday night and led the Lady Tigers to the Championship victory over Andrews Academy on Saturday night with 21 points. Lake is also included in the Battle Creek Enquirer as an Athlete of the Week candidate.

2. (2nd Best Player) #44 7th. Sofia Keller (Battle Creek)
Keller scored a career high 22 points on Thursday night vs Pansophia and played the full 32 minutes in the championship game against Andrews scoring 12 points.

3. (3rd Best Player) #5 Fr. Lily Dockerty (Andrews)
Dockerty led Andrews to a championship game appearance and was a force in the middle on offense against the Lady Tigers 3-2 defense.

4. (4th Best Player) #10 Sr. Hailey Stasiukinas (West Michigan Lutheran)
Stasiukinas led the Mustangs to a third place finish in the tournament and provided great energy in the Mustangs first round game against Andrews and third place game against Pansophia.

5. (5th Best Player) #4 Fr. Indy Schalk (Andrews)
Schalk helped lead Andrews to a championship game appearance and provided competent ball handing for the Cardinals.
