BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Battle Creek Tigers Girls Soccer team lost their third match of the season to the Kalamazoo Heritage Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 10-1. The game started at 5:30pm under cloudy conditions at Battle Creek Academy. However, the sun made an appearance and nicely complemented the 55 degree weather. Tiger co-captain Ellie Costie stepped up and did a good job of playing goalie in the absence of Caydence Smith.
Tiger striker Sofia Keller (#5) scored the first goal in Girls Soccer program history. The goal came towards the middle of the first half on a breakaway opportunity.
We made progress today as we scored our first goal. That goal was a great breakaway. We are learning valuable lessons and meeting kids from other schools in friendly games. We are learning how to face challenges and work as a team.
Deon Stein, Girls Soccer Coach
